Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE), located in Washington, D.C., is one of the largest integrated sports and entertainment companies in the country with one of the most diverse partnership groups in all of sports. MSE owns and operates five professional sports teams: the AFL’s Baltimore Brigade and Washington Valor, NBA’s Washington Wizards, NHL’s Washington Capitals and WNBA’s Washington Mystics. The company just recently purchased an NBA G League development league team, isco-owner of aXiomatic, which has controlling interest in global esports franchise Team Liquid, and also owns and operates Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. Monumental Sports & Entertainment also manages Kettler Capitals Iceplex, the state-of-the-art training facility for the Capitals and EagleBank Arena on George Mason University’s campus. In 2018, Monumental Sports & Entertainment will bring the Mystics and the G League team to a new state-of-the-art Entertainment and Sports Arena being built by Washington, D.C. and Events DC at the St. Elizabeth’s campus in Ward 8.  The Wizards will also practice there. Position Overview: Created in 2013, Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation supports the charitable efforts of the Washington Capitals, Mystics, Valor and Wizards and the Baltimore Brigade. MSE Foundation is committed to the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area and focuses on the following five pillars to maximize its impact and engagement with the community: youth basketball, football and hockey; education and scholarship; pediatric health and fitness; military and veterans' affairs; and hunger and homelessness. MSE Foundation is looking for high-energy, motivated sellers to join our 50/50 raffle sales team for the 2017-18 Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards team seasons.

Responsibilities:

  • Sell 50/50 raffle tickets to Verizon Center attendees.
  • Spread awareness of 50/50 raffle program and MSE Foundation.
  • Handle large amounts of cash and electronic transactions.
  • Approach fans pre-game and in-game to explain the details of the 50/50 raffle program.
  • Accurately handle the sale and distribution of the tickets, following program requirements.
  • Answer questions fans may have about the 50/50 raffle program and MSE Foundation.
  • Turn in all cash and tickets to supervisors throughout and at the end of game day.
  • Meet fundraising goals for each game set by manager.
  • Attend pre-season and mid-season training session.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent education.
  • Must have the ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays, if necessary, from October through June.
  • Must be available a minimum of half the 50/50 raffle games per month.
  • Prior experience handling cash preferred.
  • Ability to interact positively with large fan base.
  • Able to walk, stand, and climb in an indoor setting for 4-5 hours at a time.
  • Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills.
  • Must be outgoing, well-spoken and determined to make sales on behalf of MSE Foundation.
  • Must be prompt and arrive to work on time.
  • Must be a responsible, motivated individual unafraid to approach guests with a sales pitch.

Position Overview: Responsible for selling and servicing new accounts and creating and implementing new ideas to drive ticket sales revenue.

Responsibilities:

  • Sell a full menu of ticket products for Monumental Sports & Entertainment properties, including, but not limited to full and partial season ticket packages, group tickets and hospitality packages.
  • Make cold calls from lists of area companies provided to sell full and partial season ticket packages and group tickets.
  • Effectively follow up with clients and prospective clients in order to build relationships to help provide repeat business and to meet excellent customer service requirements.
  • Proactively create opportunities for new business through up selling opportunities and referrals from existing clients.
  • Contact past customers in order to generate new ticket sales.
  • Cordially and effectively handle incoming sales calls from prospective clients for all ticket sales products. 
  • Conduct in-arena appointments and tours of Verizon Center to assist in closing new business and developing new relationships.
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales goals for all ticket products.
  • Work different Monumental Sports events and games as assigned to support ticket sales efforts and promotional initiatives. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree. 
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with internal and external clients at all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.

Position Overview: The Sr. Director, Analytics & Customer Retention is responsible for analyzing and tracking any and all business and digital data metrics that occur on Monumental Sports Network’s multi-platform digital infrastructure. The position effectively tracks various KPIs and reports conclusions to various team members to help drive intelligent business decisions across marketing & programming disciplines.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide thorough daily, weekly, monthly, and annual tracking of various digital platform metrics including unique visitors, monthly visitors, video views, social media account followings, app downloads, subscriber acquisition conversion rates, and subscriber churn.
  • Prepare analytical and trend reports and publications, create graphics, and provide client and stakeholder ready material.
  • Effectively segment and categorize non-paid users and paid-subscribers to better inform marketing practices to improve acquisition strategies and decrease subscriber churn.
  • Monitor and measure progress of key revenue streams as they compare to submitted business plan.
  • Based on recorded data, work with content development team to advise which live and/or on-demand programming provides greatest benefit to the overall business and which live and/or on-demand programming should be cancelled or not pursued in the future.
  • Based on recorded data, work with web operations team to determine optimal programming schedule and best times/windows/days to publish specific programming.
  • Work with web operations team to maintain, track, and organize various sales landing page experiences to track performance and to optimize subscriber acquisition rates.
  • Monitor and track ARPU across all subscriber segments and provide insights and advisement on how best to maximize value.
  • Work with corporate partnership sales team to deliver timely feedback on activation performance, as well as provide projections to potential partners on future partnership activations.
  • Provide insights on consumer behavior by creating customer profiles that can be utilized for marketing, content programming, and corporate partnership purposes.
  • Identify, segment, and provide strategies for subscribers that are at risk of churn.
  • Ability to manage a junior level data analysts.
  • Assist Network leadership with reporting needs for board of directors meetings or other requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Must have strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
  • Must have strong quantitative skills to analyze data that affect strategy and decision-making.
  • Must have experience navigating Content Management Systems (CMS).
  • Working knowledge of mobile and OTT application operations.
  • Knowledge of SQL and web analytics software such as Google Analytics, Omniture and Tableau.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Organized, thorough, and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.

Position Overview: This position assists with the day-to-day management of ticket operations activities for the Washington Capitals. The position’s primary responsibility is to support MSE sales efforts by managing the monthly commissions process for Monumental Sports & Entertainment.                  

Responsibilities:

  • Tracks monthly commissions and provide reporting to all representatives and department heads.
  • Works with sales and service representatives to ensure accuracy of commissions.
  • Processes payments for ticket orders.
  • Supports Membership Services department with season ticket holder account requests.
  • Assists with distribution of tickets via mail, will-call, and expedited shipping methods.
  • Assists with management of ticket inventory for Capitals.
  • Works 40-50 games in Box Office each year across Capitals, Mystics and Valor seasons.
  • Runs a Box Office window on game nights to handle plan holder ticket needs, escalated customer service issues, and troubleshoot ticket problems.
  • Utilizes Ticketmaster platform including, but not limited to – Archtics, Account Manager, TM360, and TM Host.
  • Works any additional all-staff events for the Capitals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products, primarily: Excel and Word.
  • Experience with Archtics ticketing system.
  • Six months to 1 year related experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Position Overview: This is a part-time seasonal position within the Washington Capitals Marketing Department. Game Night staff will be fun, energetic, and committed to promoting the Washington Capitals both at home games and outside events.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with full-time Marketing staff in the execution of game night duties
  • Set-up/breakdown of program and giveaway distribution, signage, theme night programs, and concourse tables
  • Distribute giveaways items, facilitate on-site promotions, interact with fans and handle data collection
  • Assist with staffing marketing tables at games, including Kids Club, Auction, Scarlet Caps and theme night related locations
  • Opportunities to work non-game day special events (including Fan Fest, season ticket member events, Street Hockey Tour, partner appearances, festivals, parades, etc.) in an effort to promote the Washington Capitals
  • Responsible for set-up and breakdown of all interactive elements at scheduled events
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Passionate about the Washington Capitals and the sport of hockey
  • Organized with the ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast paced work environment
  • Hard working, detail oriented and results driven
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to be a team player and enjoy working in a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Position Overview: This is a part-time seasonal position within the Washington Wizards Marketing Department. Game Night Staff Members will be fun, energetic, and committed to promoting the Washington Wizards.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute grassroots marketing set-up at Wizards special events and games including but not limited to season ticket holder events, sports tournaments, partner appearances, festivals, and youth basketball camps and clinics in an effort to promote the Washington Wizards
  • Responsible for installation set-up, operation, and breakdown of all interactive elements at scheduled events
  • Ensure all game day activations are executed in a professional and timely manner
  • Assist with staffing tables at Wizards games and set-up/breakdown of giveaway distribution, theme nights, concourse tables
  • Manage marketing giveaways and prizes inventory

In 2018, Monumental Sports & Entertainment will bring the Mystics and the G League team to a new state-of-the-art Entertainment and Sports Arena being built by Washington, D.C. and Events DC at the St. Elizabeth’s campus in Ward 8.  The Wizards will also practice there. Monumental Sports Network is the mid-Atlantic region’s top direct-to-consumer destination for exclusive fan experiences and original sports content across desktop, tablet, mobile and OTT streaming devices.

Position Overview: Responsible for supplying 5-Star service to the VIP members of one of our premium club spaces during events. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in managing the Owners Club guest experience.
  • Greets and welcomes the VIP members as they enter the Owners Club, assists with coat checks and valet escort, if necessary.
  • Serves as a liason between VIP members and management.
  • Builds a rapport with club members and frequent guests to personalize and tailor experience to each guest’s needs.
  • Works with catering staff to ensure members and their guests experiences are 5-Star quality.
  • Monitors club conditions and works with maintenance to ensure that high standards are met.
  • Ensures that game programs and notes are available for members.
  • Continually strives for new ways to enhance the VIP experience and provide 5-Star service.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and use discretion when privy to sensitive information
  • Be a flexible and reliable team player, with ability to multi-task
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Presents self in professional manner and has the ability to interact with all levels of organization and outside contacts
  • Punctual, able to arrive and prep club area at least 3 hours prior to every home game or event
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years customer service experience.
  • Preferred experience in fine dining, high-end retail, or premium sporting events.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, by being articulate, expressive and clear.
  • Must be available to work evenings, holidays and weekends. Commit to at least 30 home games.
  • Ability to stand and walk for duration of NBA game.

Position Overview: Assisting the Wizards Membership Services Department, the Game Night Staff is responsible for providing world class customer service and hospitality to all season ticket members and guests entering Verizon Center. Game Night Staffers have the ability to impact each guest’s experience, and do everything they can to enhance the experience while abiding by company policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with full-time Membership Services staff in the execution of game night duties.
  • Provide superior customer service to Wizards season ticket members and fans.
  • Respond to guest inquiries regarding the Verizon Center, ticket plans, and the team.
  • Assist in the distribution of giveaway items and season ticket member gifts .
  • Execute pre-game set-up and post-game breakdown of all season ticket member locations and game day initiatives.
  • Assist with access control to ensure VIP areas are restricted to designated VIP guests.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of stadium and department policies and procedures to effectively assist with general questions.
  • Be knowledgeable of various amenities available for the enjoyment and entertainment of our guests.
  • Exhibit a fun, friendly fan service-oriented attitude and professional appearance at all times.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with guests and other employees.
  • Be familiar with DC 12 Club member benefits, events, policies and procedures.
  • Assist Manager of Events and Programs with season ticket member events set up and break down.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Availability to work all Wizards home games, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Commitment to work a minimum of 30 games.
  • Customer service experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.
  • Must have the ability to anticipate needs, assess situations and act accordingly.
  • Requires attention to detail and the ability to adapt to changing and difficult situations.
  • Must have a positive attitude and possess outstanding communication skills.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and climb stairs.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-pace environment.
  • Sport industry experience preferred but not required.
